From my years of experience, I’ve learned one major rule when it comes to selling products either through affiliate programs, or Drop Shippers. That rule is simple:

There are many factors that go into this, but the more specific your site, the more people that are looking for that specific product will purchase that product from your site. This has to do in part with search engines bringing more targeted traffic to your site, rather then untargeted junk traffic. It’s not quantity, it’s quality, when dealing with web traffic.

If one person comes to your Sports Illustrated site looking to buy Sports Illustrated, you will do better then if the same person came to a site dedicated to selling 2000 different magazines. I’ve been selling for affiliate programs for over 4 years now, and this is probably one of the best things I’ve learned.
