From my years of experience, I’ve learned one major rule when it comes to selling products either through affiliate programs, or Drop Shippers. That rule is simple:
“The more product specific your website, the better you will do”

This is so true. For example, if you have a website that sells virtually anything, sure you will have a large target audience, but from personal experience, your sales will be very low. The more specific you get, the better you will do. If you have a site dedicated to selling reading materials, another dedicated to selling magazines, another dedicated to selling sports magazines, and another dedicated to selling only the Sports Illustrated Magazine, the more specific site will do the best.

In this case it would be the site dedicated to selling “Sports Illustrated” only, followed by the site that sells Sports Magazine, then the site that sells magazines in general, then the site that sells reading materials. You might ask why this is the case.

There are many factors that go into this, but the more specific your site, the more people that are looking for that specific product will purchase that product from your site. This has to do in part with search engines bringing more targeted traffic to your site, rather then untargeted junk traffic. It’s not quantity, it’s quality, when dealing with web traffic.

If one person comes to your Sports Illustrated site looking to buy Sports Illustrated, you will do better then if the same person came to a site dedicated to selling 2000 different magazines. I’ve been selling for affiliate programs for over 4 years now, and this is probably one of the best things I’ve learned.

All the top internet marketers use membership sites, starting with a low-end product such as an e-book, them moving their subscribers through the funnel to a higher-value product, and then hopefully, once they are hooked, getting them to sign up to their private coaching courses through a membership site.

But setting up your own membership site has a number of challenges.

1. Firstly you need to have a product or service that you can deliver month after month. You need to provide new content and new value to your subscribers.

Just a few moments we stumbled upon a pretty interesting internet marketing post from the guys at www.biginternetmarketing.

Walt was posting about Google Shadow and had some very interesting points he discussed while talking about Google Shadow. This is of course the new product set to launch at the 11th of this month. The product comes from DJK Chris X and this is one of the main points of discussion on the Google Shadow comparison post.

What is very interesting to ponder about is this: Walt shows us how many people bought Google Nemesis using his recommendations and how many of those people are still using the program.

This could well be saying something about the quality of the product, right? Well, it does not have to be but it could be a right way of looking at things considering we want to find out what quality it is Google Shadow will bring its buyers.

Walt makes a good point that people do not buy products with in mind that they want to return it and get a refund. Of course there are some that will take advantage of this and buy the product, use it as long as the refund policy time is and then refund.

Those people will be caught out by Clickbank sooner than later may we add but the point he makes is a valid one. People want a product to be working with it as long as possible. Not just a month and be dissatisfied and disappointed another product they tried did not do it for them.
